Our head office is located in Cairns, Queensland but our customers, products and expertise are employed at mining and industrial sites across Australia and the world. The Brisbane branch was established in Nov 2018. We know what it takes to deliver quality, reliability and performance, in some of the toughest environmental conditions on the planet. Past
CIE stands for Cristaudos Industrial Electrics. CIE was founded over 20 years ago by Tony Cristaudo, who is still the Managing Director today. Hailing from the mining township of Mount Isa, Queensland, Tony began his career in 1987 as an underground electrician. Since then, he has dedicated his life to this occupation and industry, which culminated in the formation of CIE in 1996.
The business was conceived to fulfill the need of designing, developing and supplying off the shelf and customised power and electrical solutions for the metalliferous mining industry. As a mine employee, Tony knew how difficult it was to source quality materials and products, meeting the exacting safety and operational standards required for the mining and industrial sector.
As a qualified electrician, who learned and honed his craft in the underground mines of Northwest Queensland, he had the unique skills, experience, knowledge and ability to design, manufacture, supply and maintain these products and materials. So with the support of family, friends and industry, Tony set to work and CIE was born.
Present
Today CIE employs a team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals, who encompass a range of skills and occupations including, but not limited to: electrical and mechanical drafts people, sheet metal workers, boilermakers and accounts and administration. CIE maintains a commitment to quality and innovation.
The company has stayed true to its roots, manufacturing the best custom designed switch-panels, utilising the best industry protection equipment available in the market today and always meeting the specific needs of the metalliferous mining industry.
It has expanded its personnel, products and services to meet demand, maintaining the underlying principles of quality, care and service at all times. Today, the CIE product range includes but is not limited to: substations, MCC’s, fan, pump and jumbo starters, all ancillary electrical control and protection equipment needed in metalliferous mining companies. As well as operating a substantial hire equipment division that specialises in diesel power generation, substations, switchboards and mobile lighting.
Future
CIE’s vision is to be the premier Metalliferous Underground Mining Switchboard Manufacturer in Australia for Innovation, Quality and Safety.
Tony Cristaudo will continue to lead from the front, ably supported by a dedicated team of industry professionals. CIE will achieve their vision by continuing to use the best people, design and manufacturing technologies, to maximise precision, consistency and efficiency across the production cycle.
CIE provides mining personnel with protection from electrocution, by encouraging and assisting customers with AS/NZ 4871 2012 and 2081 2011 compliance.
